I think we could call this first Summer living | Vive l'été post in August and ode to stay-cationing, to really turn your home and surroundings into a summer haven. It would help if you had a garden but a balcony will do, or large windows that you can keep open to let the summer in. Instead of sending a postcard from a resort you can write a few inspirational lines on beautiful stationery and send to friends and loved ones. If you cannot think of anything, then borrow something from your favourite author or poet.
Yesterday while dining al fresco (I made a delicious quiche and will share the recipe later this week) I was thinking that I almost couldn't remember when we last ate in the kitchen. Is there something called al fresco living? As all our meals are taken on the balcony, it feels more like al fresco living. On Friday I even sat there until late in the evening in 27 degrees watching Out of Africa on the laptop.
I love these summer days.

I love the idea of sending a few lines to your loved one even if you are still at home. I used to write to my gran regularly when I was little and you've inspired me to start it again because I know how much she loves postcards from abroad so one from here would be a nice surpirse! Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteWill, I used to do that when my grandmother was alive; I sent her postcards and letters from everywhere. I'm glad I inspired you. It's the little things...
DeleteSounds wonderful Lisa! Loving all these images you've chosen, especially that rustic table setting under the trees. Could quite happily spend the day there :)
ReplyDeleteLana, I could do that too! Love this setting.
DeleteI love *your* summer!

This is what I call stay-cationing in style. What a beautiful thought of sending a few lines to loved ones just because... Somehow, I think this would be much more appreciated than a postcard sent from a location where you're spending your holiday.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely your "summer family life"... The pics, as always are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEach photo more beautiful than the next. I have pinned that last image, those rattan chairs are on my wishlist :)
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend was lovely!
